"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors                                        are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again."                                                                                                                               Elizabeth Lawrence

The Garden Is Designed Around Five Themed Sections

                                                                                    Wildflower Meadow

This is the one area of the Garden that is not mulched.  Seeds are broadcast onto a weed-free sunny bed of loose, average soil right before the first rains of the season, usually in October or November.  Nature does the rest.  You'll find our state flower, the California poppy, as well as clarkia in fuchsia, coral and white, and several varieties of gilia, phacilia, and nemophilia.
