"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors                                        are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again."                                                                                                                               Elizabeth Lawrence

The Garden Is Designed Around Five Themed Sections

                                                                             Bird and Butterfly Habitat

Although the entire garden is a nature habitat, this area is especially lush.  It includes butterfly bush, California lilac, hummingbird and other sages, and native buckwheats.  All are well adapted to our Mediterranean climate and provide shelter and a food source for a variety of native wildlife.  The Habitat attracts butterflies, such as buckeyes, monarchs, painted ladies, and morning cloaks; and birds, such as grosbeaks, western tanagers, hummingbirds, white-crowned sparrows, black phoebes, warblers and hawks.
